What to Expect

On Sunday morning, you will see people of all ages gathering in our comfortable Atrium sharing stories from the week and enjoying drinks provided by Second Wind Coffee House. You will also find our Welcome Desk, where you are encouraged to ask questions and discover more about First Presbyterian Church. Feel free to come dressed in whatever makes you comfortable to enjoy the company of others and participate in worship. We will be glad to see you!

 What is Worship Like?

Most Sunday mornings there are two worship services — one at 8:30 a.m. and another at 11:00 a.m. During the Summer, we hold one service at 10:00 a.m. in the Sanctuary. Each of our services is a traditional reformed protestant service featuring hymns, prayers, scripture readings, and a sermon, all in one hour. Our 8:30 a.m. service meets in the Chapel and is a more casual and intimate service. Our service at 11:00 a.m. meets in the Sanctuary and includes a full choir and organ. Both services celebrate Communion on the 1st Sunday of the month.

Guests will never be singled out or made to feel uncomfortable in any way. However, our pastors and church leaders are available at the doors after each service to greet guests and answer any questions.

 What about kids?

Children are always welcomed in worship. Worship bags are available in the back of the sanctuary with crayons and activity sheets, but if you prefer to worship without your children, childcare is also available. When it comes to childcare, safety is our top priority which is why all of our childcare staff and volunteers must complete training and background checks.

 What about Parking?

Parking on Campus Corner can be difficult, but luckily, First Presbyterian Church has two lots available for Sunday parking. The first parking lot is directly South of the church. This lot is specifically reserved for Guests and those who may need closer handicap parking. The second, larger parking lot is on the West side of University Boulevard, across from the church, and is also available for guests if the South lot is full. Both of these parking lots provide close access to the main entrance located under the covered drive.
