Below is a list of programs and by various inter-church groups services that the Mission Committee gives financial and volunteer support. In addition there are several other mission  projects that have been undertaken by other inter-church groups.

 

 

 

Austin Seminary - financial support for students entering seminary
 
Dominican Republic - work with schools, health clinics, water purification, church development

Oklahoma Regional Food Bank with Back Pack for Kids in Norman schools

Second Wind campus ministry - salary for the director

Health for Friends - holding a clinic at night once a month and gift card to buy diabetes testing strips

Norman Justice Alliance - support educational and social justice programs in collaboration with other churches.  The NJA meets at 7 p.m. the third Thursday of each month at First Presbyterian Church. For more information, call co-Chairs Linda Terrell, 364-1420 or Ed Kearns, 360-3279

Food and Shelter, Inc. - funds for food, collection of food, donations to support ongoing care for homeless

Women's Resource Center - support safety of adults and children in domestic abuse situations

Meals on Wheels - support program so elderly can have food and remain in their homes

Community Thanksgiving Meal - volunteer support to expand program

Xenia Institute - volunteer and financial support to expand education on diverse and divisive issues in the community

Rebuilding Together - event to clean up homes of handicapped/disabled or aging individuals

Knox House - support of transitional living facility along with East Main Place

The Christmas Store of Norman - funds and volunteers to provide holiday food and gifts for needy

The Salvation Army - ringing the Christmas Kettle Bell has become an FPC tradition

Community Action Program - food to reach those in need through on-going collections

Secret Santa program of Citizens Advisory Board, Cleveland County Child Welfare Unit for children in foster care

Center for Children and Families - financial support for programs including education and diapers for babies

Free Market - in collaboration with campus churches & groups provide goods free for those in need

Social Justice Forums on issues impacting the environment, immigrants, health care and mental health crisis

CROP Walk - church wide support to combat hunger both locally and through Church World Services

The Urban Mission, OKC - Collect supplies and funds for back to school supplies of Intercity kids.

Pennies for Peace - support the work of Greg Mortenson to provide education for children
